We see how John confronts a problem in the first century church that is still an issue to this day – the problem of people seeking to redefining who Jesus was and what he came to do. John makes it clear that this shouldn’t be an issue up for debate, because the truth about Jesus and his ministry has been established by the testimony of God himself.
