Veterans In Christ is a group of veterans from every era who discovered their service didn’t end when the uniform came off. Founded by Harry Warner around a simple motto — Continuing to Serve — the group has two sides to it.
The fellowship. We meet monthly here at the church for the kind of conversation only people who’ve worn the uniform can give one another. Stories, encouragement, coffee, and the ease of being with folks who understand. Many of our members served during the Vietnam era and came home to silence, without so much as a welcome home. That left a mark — and it left a deep compassion for anyone who feels overlooked. Come to this and nothing else, and you’ll be right at home.
The service. That compassion is why the group doesn’t stop at the church doors. Members visit local nursing homes to teach, pray, and sit with residents — one facility calls it “Community Church coming to them.” They serve meals to men and women facing hard times at the Haven of Rest. And when they meet a veteran who needs to know he isn’t forgotten, they hand him a challenge coin — a small thing that has meant a great deal to the men who’ve received one.
