Need Prayer?

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Philippians 4:6 NLT

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours.

Mark 11:24 NLT

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

Romans 8:26 NLT

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Matthew 6:6 NLT

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

James 5:16 NLT

Pray for an hour ⏲️

15 minutes. “Abide with Me”

Start by removing distractions. Silence your phone and set it aside so that your time with God won’t be interrupted.

Before you pray, take a moment to prepare your heart.

  Breathe

As you breathe in, pray, “God, you are here.”  As you breathe out, pray, “I am here with you.”

  Be still

Read a Psalm or two. Here are some suggestions: Psalm 23, 63, 95, 100, 139, 148, 149, 150.

  Catch up with God

Tell Him how your day is going. Let Him know about the things that are happening in your life, the good and the bad. Tell God about the things that are causing you tension and stress, give those things to Him and leave them at the door.

5 Minutes. “God is Good”

Worship God - Tell Him about the things that leave you awestruck and in wonder.

Praise God - Tell Him why you love Him. Meditate on God’s character. Dwell on His goodness.

Thank God - Think about the ways He has blessed you. Recall the ways He has provided for you over the years. Thank Him for all He has done.

Consider writing down some of the ways God has answered your prayers, and hang them up. Seeing God’s faithfulness in your life can provide encouragement to other believers who will see it.

10 Minutes. “Give and Receive”

Humble yourself. Take a piece of paper and write down your mistakes. As you do, pray, confess the sins to God.

Receive His forgiveness.

Then, turn the page over. Consider those who have wronged you, those who have caused you hurt. Write these things down.

As you do, tell God what you feel — ask for His strength. Give your forgiveness to those who have sinned against you. Forgiveness may be your breakthrough.

When you’re done, fold up the page. Rip it into small pieces and throw it away. You have been forgiven. The slate is clean.

10 Minutes. “Renewal and Revival”

As Christ’s church we are united in prayer. We serve one another when we pray for each other.

Pray for the requests and needs of others. Lift them up to God. God has the power to heal, to restore and to bring renewal and revival to our family, friends, community and world. Contend in prayer on behalf of others.

You can also unite with the church in these four prayers as we hunger and thirst for the will of God to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven:

  • More spirit - Pray for the Spirit to come upon you and fellow believers like fire and transform us.
  • More Salvations - Pray for an evangelistic outpouring of new salvations.
  • More Healings - Pray for supernatural healings of all types in your community.
  • More Breakthroughs - Pray for God’s power to break through for you and for others.

10 Minutes. “In Jesus’ Name”

God cares deeply for you and is concerned about your personal needs. Tell God about your needs great and small. Ask Him to provide. Pray boldly for your personal needs, hopes, and requests.

Write down some of your requests and share them with your church. Share them with confidence knowing that hundreds of other believers will be praying over you to our God who hears us.

10 Minutes. “Slow Down and Listen”

God speaks to us. He will speak, direct, and lead us if we take the time to listen. End by slowing down even a little bit more. Get comfortable in a chair.

Be silent. Sit in God’s presence. Abide with Him. There is no agenda, nothing to get done, no task to accomplish. Listen and take note of what God brings to your mind and heart. Give thanks to God. Amen.

Just as we communicate with other people we have a relationship with, think of prayer as communicating with God in your relationship with Him.

Texts
Pray short, small prayers all throughout the day. Tell Him about what is going on and what you need help with.

Phone
Calls  10-15 minute talks with God once or twice a day. Set aside time to connect deeper and talk to God about your life, relationships, and pray for others.

Coffee Dates
A special time to be with God for a longer period. This might happen once a week or a or a couple times a month but make a habit of spending quality time with God on a regular basis that includes prayer, reading your Bible, worship, etc.

Think about the people you love, who among them doesn’t know Jesus as their Lord and  savior? Grab a sticky note or piece of paper and write the names of three of those people and  place it somewhere you will see everyday. Throughout the week of prayer pray for those three  people at least once everyday. Ask God to soften their hearts to the gospel and ask Him to give  you the wisdom and courage to be a light that would help lead them to salvation.

'The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. '
