Powerful Testimonies to Impact our Lives

Women’s Prayer Breakfast

We hosted our biannual Women’s Prayer Breakfast on May 3, 2025 which is one of my favorite events of the year. We hold these gatherings usually in Oct and May, usually around Mother’s Day. The main goal is to create intentional time for prayer, fellowship, and to hear stories from women within our own church family.

Each breakfast features testimony from two speakers, typically women from our congregation. This spring, we were blessed to hear from Wendy Mobley and Sue Rowen. Wendy shared her fertility journey and how powerful the prayers of her family and church community were during that time. Seeing her little one now is a beautiful reminder of how God works through prayer. Sue, who is known as a Prayer Warrier, shared a personal moment of desperation when she herself needed prayer. It meant so much to hear that vulnerability and to see how even a strong prayer needs to  lean on others in hard times.

One special moment that warmed my heart came after the event. We invited each woman to create a prayer board—something personal to help guide her own prayer time. One of the women took hers home, and her daughter, who’s in the youth group, ended up making one, too. That showed me how God can use something simple to inspire the next generation.

We’re always looking for input from the women of the church to help our Prayer Breakfasts, for example,  topics they care about, struggles they're facing in prayer, or spiritual practices they want to grow in. Ladies, your feedback helps us shape these gatherings to better nourish our hearts and souls.
