Fun, Laughter, and a Lot of Chicken Nuggets

Parents Night Out

We hosted another Parents’ Night Out, and it was a blast. Nearly 30 kids join us for the evening.  The kids had a great time. We crafted, read a story, and watched VeggieTales.  This generation of kids are not familiar with Veggie Tales so it is fun to watch them enjoy Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato. We played games, served dinner of dinosaur chicken nuggets and just enjoyed being together. For three hours, the kids were engaged, safe, and cared for.

We want to give parents a chance to rest, reconnect, or just breathe a little. Whether it’s a dinner date, a movie, or even just a trip to the grocery store without little ones in tow.  Our goal is to offer a meaningful break.

I heard from one mom who told me she and her husband hadn’t been able to have a date night in over two years. This gave them that chance. That kind of feedback reminds me why we do this.

We host Parents’ Night Out a few times during the school year. We did it in the fall and winter, and we’ll pick back up again this coming fall, either October or November. It’s one of my favorite events, and we’re always looking forward to the next one.
