would like to start by thanking Mike for joining our volunteer team last year. Seeing him grow into the volunteer that he is today and build relationships with the boys has been truly a privilege for me.
Sunday nights Mike hangs with them, plays basketball, sits with them to talk and helps them apply the Bible to their everyday life.
During the summer, he met with a group of boys at Dunkin to study about the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew and work on growing their Faith.
I am seeing God work in and through Mike and ultimately to the boys. The number one mission of our Student Ministry is that we follow Jesus.
I Corinthians 11:1 says, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Mike is a great leader by example. I have appreciated his willingness to jump in. These boys are important to him and you can clearly see it. Sometimes his silly energy with the students is what they need.
Mike, I am excited as you start your second year with us and see how the relationships you started last year continue to grow and benefit these young students. I know that you will take them closer and closer to God this year.
