Diving Deep with VBS

A fantastic week of Vacation Bible School

R

ecently, we had an extraordinary time during our Vacation Bible School (VBS). This event brings kids together to sing, dance, have fun, and most importantly, learn about Jesus. I’m delighted to share that around 20 children accepted Jesus for the first time during this event. Isn’t that amazing?

VBS is a week-long event from Sunday to Thursday, where the kids come every evening. They sing and watch skits together, then break up into groups and rotate between stations: Games, Song, Crafts, Story, and Snack. This year’s theme was “SCUBA,” so the church was covered in underwater-themed decorations. The kids wore hats, dressed like Hawaiians, and made scuba gear. It was a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.

Our Good News Club, a program we run during the school year at the elementary school, played a significant role in this success. We had six new families join us at VBS because of their involvement in the Good News Club.

We had over 100 children registered, and 104 attended. Even more impressive was the fact that over 100 volunteers helped us throughout the week. That’s almost a 1 to 1 child-leader ratio, which is crazy when you consider most elementary schools aim for about a 20 to 1 ratio. Their dedication and hard work were instrumental in making this week a success.

This isn’t the end of the fun for the summer; it’s just the beginning. I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Here’s to many more amazing weeks like this!
